Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
  • Altitude Gain: 1,800m to 3,000m

  • Distance: 11 km

  • Trekking Time: 5-7 hours

Your adventure starts at the Machame Gate after registration. The trail meanders through a lush rainforest filled with ancient trees and exotic birds. By late afternoon, you reach Machame Camp, where the air is cooler and mist often clings to the surrounding forest.

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
  • Altitude Gain: 3,000m to 3,850m

  • Distance: 5 km

  • Trekking Time: 4-6 hours

Climbing out of the forest and into a heather-covered moorland, today's hike offers your first panoramic views of Kibo Peak. By the time you reach Shira Camp, you’ll feel the shift in terrain and temperature.

Day 3: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
  • Altitude Gain: Up to 4,600m, then descend to 3,950m

  • Distance: 10 km

  • Trekking Time: 6-8 hours

This is the pivotal acclimatization day. The ascent to Lava Tower tests your body’s response to altitude, while the descent to Barranco Camp allows your body to adapt. The infamous Barranco Wall looms ahead, waiting for tomorrow’s challenge.

Day 4 : Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
  • Altitude Gain: 3,950m to 3,995m

  • Distance: 5 km

  • Trekking Time: 4-5 hours

The day starts with a climb up the Barranco Wall, an exhilarating scramble with spectacular views. The trail then undulates across ridges and valleys until you reach Karanga Camp, a crucial acclimatization stop.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
  • Altitude Gain: 3,995m to 4,673m

  • Distance: 4 km

  • Trekking Time: 3-4 hours

This short but steep hike brings you to Barafu Camp, the final base before summit night. After early dinner and briefings, trekkers get some rest in preparation for the midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak.

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak and Down to Mweka Camp
  • Altitude Gain: 4,673m to 5,895m, then down to 3,100m

  • Distance: 17 km

  • Trekking Time: 12-16 hours

Summit night starts around midnight. With headlamps illuminating the snowy trail, you slowly ascend to Stella Point, and eventually to the roof of Africa Uhuru Peak (5,895m). After celebrating briefly, you descend all the way to Mweka Camp for a well-earned rest.

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
  • Altitude Loss: 3,100m to 1,640m

  • Distance: 10 km

  • Trekking Time: 3-4 hours

The final descent takes you through lush forest trails. Upon reaching Mweka Gate, you receive your summit certificate, a proud testament to your Kilimanjaro conquest.
