Your day begins with a scenic drive from either Arusha or Moshi to the Serval Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the tranquil Siha District near Mount Kilimanjaro. As you travel through the beautiful countryside, you’ll catch glimpses of rural Tanzanian life and the towering silhouette of Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival at the sanctuary, you'll be welcomed by the friendly staff and introduced to the sanctuary's mission of conservation and animal rehabilitation.
The experience starts with a guided nature walk through the sanctuary’s natural landscape. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to observe a variety of wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and numerous bird species in a peaceful and controlled environment. The knowledgeable guides will share fascinating insights about the animals and the ecosystem they live in. A highlight of the tour is the interactive animal feeding experience, where you can safely get up close with animals like giraffes and even lions under supervision, offering excellent photo opportunities and unforgettable moments.
You’ll then visit the Conservation Center, where you'll learn about the sanctuary’s efforts in wildlife protection and education. The staff will explain how injured or rescued animals are cared for and reintroduced into natural settings. After the tour, enjoy a freshly prepared picnic lunch in one of the designated areas surrounded by nature. This is a perfect time to relax, take in the surroundings, and reflect on the experiences of the day.
Before departing, you’ll have some free time to explore more of the sanctuary at your own pace or revisit areas of interest. The return drive to Arusha or Moshi offers a chance to unwind and enjoy the scenery, bringing your day of wildlife immersion and conservation awareness to a memorable close.
